Debbie Webster (Sue Devaney) has finally revealed the truth about her dementia diagnosis in Coronation Street.
The show legend was diagnosed with young-onset dementia earlier this year, but decided to keep the news from her family.
Only younger brother Carl Webster (Jonathan Howard) knew the truth, having found the letter about her appointment, though Debbie swore him to secrecy.
With brother Kevin Webster (Michael Le Vell) being treated for testicular cancer and sister-in-law Abi Webster (Sally Carman) having recently been diagnosed with post-traumatic stress disorder, Debbie didn’t want them to have to deal with her life-changing news on top of everything else.
However, in tonight’s episode her symptoms became too obvious to hide, and Debbie had no choice but to reveal all.
Abi and Carl were both alarmed when Debbie walked in on their clandestine chat about their feelings for each other, though they were soon worried for a different reason when they realised that Debbie was unresponsive.

For the second time that day, Debbie completely zoned out, before passing out, luckily with Kevin there to catch her.
When she came to, it was clear that she had no recollection of what had happened, and her family were quick to insist that she needed to go to the hospital to find out what had happened.
Realising that they weren’t going to give up, Debbie explained that she didn’t need to go to the hospital for a diagnosis, as she already had one.
The family were completely blindsided by the news of her dementia and insisted that she still go to hospital just to be checked out.
As Kevin fussed over her, she pointed out to Carl that this was the reason she’d sworn him to secrecy.
Kevin was instantly offended to learn that Debbie had told Carl and not him, but Abi was quick to scold him for making the situation about himself.

After Debbie agreed to let Abi take her to the hospital, she learnt that she’d had another mini-stroke.
Despite the doctor warning her not to drive for a few weeks, Debbie snuck out of the hospital and got in her car, leaving her family worried.
Back at home, tempers flared as the family argued about Debbie’s whereabouts, with Kevin eventually admitting to Abi that he was upset Debbie hadn’t confided her diagnosis in him first.
