Bernie Winter (Jane Hazlegrove) has been on tenterhooks since learning that future step son Aadi Alahan (Adam Hussain) organised the burglary on her husband-to-be Dev’s (Jimmi Harkishin) beloved corner shop, hoping to use the insurance pay-out to clear the £12,000 debt he’s accrued while managing the shop.
In a classic case of bad-to-worse, Bernie later learns from Aadi that due to missed insurance payments, there’ll be no pay out.
The pair were later buoyed to learn that Dev’s Aunty Rani (Joesphine Lloyd-Welcome) would be donating £25,000 to pay for the wedding.
With this, Bernie insisted on bringing the wedding forward, hoping to throw together a quick, cheap ceremony and use the remainder of Rani’s cash injection to pay Aadi’s mounting debt…

They’re scuppered, however, when Rani insists that all wedding expenditure be recorded on a spreadsheet, allowing her to see where her money is going…
Determined to cheat the pesky spreadsheet, Bernie endeavours to save money by buying Dev and Aadi cheap suits in order to divert funds to the Corner Shop.

As the evening of the stag and hen parties arrives, Bernie heads off to enjoy a low-key hen do at the Bistro, though she’s enraged to learn that, just across the street, the men are enjoying a more titillating form of entertainment…
