The actress joined the long-running show last summer in the role of Weatherfield newcomer, Betsy Swain.
Her performance in the role has won her a loyal following off-screen and over on her Instagram page, Sydney is often sharing updates on what she’s up to, including giving glimpses into her acting classes.
On Friday (September 26), she shared two images to her Instagram Story in which she could be seen in practice performance mode and said: “Back to business,” before tagging DNA Acting Class.
She also took to her main Instagram grid with a carosel of images from her photoshoot. Sydney seemingly updated her headshots and simply captioned the post: “@yellowbellyphoto [lightening emoji].”
And her Corrie co-stars were quick to respond. On-screen mum Vicky Myers said: “Breathtakingly beautiful.” Toyah Habeeb actress Georgia Taylor gushed: “I can’t deal with how pretty you are.” Cait Fitton, who plays Lauren Bolton, replied: “My beautiful bestie.” Amy Barlow star Elle Mulvaney shared: “Beauty!”

Earlier this month, Sydney said she was ‘lucky’ as she revealed she’s landed a new role away from the famous cobbles.
Sydney has shared her excitement as she is set to take on a new character. She has announced that, alongside her soap role, she will be starring in a short film, called Through The Eyes Of Bairns.
The story tackles the issue of domestic abuse and sees Emmerdale star Michelle Hardwick, who is best known for playing village vet Vanessa Woodfield, in the lead role of Rose.
The film’s official Instagram account shared the news with a post which read: “We’re super excited to reveal the first member of our cast! The very talented Michelle Hardwick @missmichellehardwick will be playing Rose.
“Rose has always had a strong moral compass but she’s thrown for a loop when her estranged father asks to see her on his death bed. Now happily married to her wife, Rose is a million miles from her difficult upbringing. She hasn’t seen her dad in over twenty years and if it was up to her she’d quite happily never see him again.”
The statement continued: “Will Rose gets the answers she needs? Will Rose get the apology she desperately wants? And even if she does, will Rose forgive her father?”.
It was later that Sydney’s role in the short film was confirmed. Also on Instagram, it was revealed she will be playing the young adult version of Rose.
The post was captioned: “Introducing the incredible Sydney Martin who’ll be playing the role of Young Adult Rose. During flashbacks, we’ll see how Rose came to be estranged from her father, Ivan, all those years ago. Rose has always been headstrong but as we watch her grow and discover who she is, Rose also uncovers the dark secret of who her father really is and just what horrors he’s capable of…”
Resharing the news to her Instagram Story, Sydney gushed: “I’ll be playing a younger version of @missmichelleharwick – what a privilege! With the most loveliest team, how lucky am I!”
Her Corrie co-stars were quick to show support with Cait Fitton, her off-screen bestie who plays Lauren Bolton in the soap, said: “Proud of you my besto” with a red love heart emoji, while Dylan Wilson star Liam McCheyne cheered: “Go smash it Syd!! X.” Sally Carman-Duttine, who plays Abi Webster, also added: “Congratulations!”
