Debbie Webster’s life has been in freefall in Coronation Street since her devastating diagnosis, and her love life is now squarely in the middle of it. But when she pays a shock visit to her ex, in the hopes of preventing him from moving on, things don’t quite go according to plan.

Debbie and Ronnie were once on solid ground. Theirs had endured a lot, until Debbie’s health scare came along and turned their world on its head. After discovering she had dementia, she chose to shut Ronnie out instead of introducing him to her agony. True to soap tradition, she didn’t explain, leaving him devastated by the abrupt split.
Ever since, Ronnie has been attempting to move on. Fans have watched him come closer to Leanne Battersby, who’s also single and part of a break-up herself after her own love saga.
Although there’s nothing formal between the two of them yet, the tension hasn’t been ignored.
Things came to a strained head at the corner shop when Debbie had trouble identifying the coins in her hand. Ronnie, being the good bloke that he is, attempted to assist, but she blew her top and hastily departed, eager to keep her condition a secret.

By this point, Ronnie had had enough. He lashed out that he “wouldn’t kick Leanne out of bed” before setting off and meeting up with her at the pub.
