Maurice Benard (Sonny Corinthos), the crime boss on General Hospital (GH), recently expanded his mental health interaction. He started a live chat. ABC fans love his State of Mind podcast, but his live appearances already seem popular.
A Therapy Session?
A week ago, Maurice went live, and he also shared it on Facebook. The real-life Sonny Corinthos sat there with the biggest cup of coffee ever. It sounded like a smoke alarm kept going off, and that irritated some people, but apart from that, the first live seemed very successful.
In his text overlay, Maurice mentioned, “Wow, this turned into a therapy session but in a good way. Let’s do it again Thursday between 830 and nine in the morning LA time.” True to his word, he did that, and he seems to have found a name for his live.
Coffee With Sonny
On Instagram, this week, his giant coffee cup featured again. So, Benard asked GH fans if they liked the name “Coffee with Sonny” as the name for his weekly live. Nobody objected. Referring to the complaints about the smoke alarm, he quipped: “If you hear noises…like, whistling, or yelling, it is my parrot.”
As Maurice’s wife sleeps early morning, he told his fans that he has to “bear the noises.” Instead of complaining, fans asked about his parrot. Well, it turns out he has a whole bunch of them, including an “African Grey.”
Other news that arrived was that Maurice Benard will be doing a lot of “appearances all over the place.” So, if you want to find out where, you can book them through “Coastal Entertainment.”
Curing The Fear Of Flying
Like State of Mind, the lives are not all about mental health. However, his bipolar and anxiety history make fans want to hear more. So, they asked questions. One fan asked him how he overcame his “fear of flying.”
Maurice told them that “a friend” of his is “a hypnotist.” The ABC star didn’t think it would work. Historically, he flew but “always had anxiety.” But they went to “his car,” and there his friend “hypnotized” him. After that, he felt “pretty good.” Since then, he flew about 20 times “without any anxiety.”
