General Hospital spoilers tease that Drew Cain (Cameron Mathison) leaves a path of destruction wherever he goes.
It doesn’t matter who you are, when one comes into contact with Drew, their lives are made that much worse for it.
One of the most tragic examples of this is Kai Taylor (Jens Austin Astrup). Kai suffered a terrible football injury and was told he would never play football again. This sent Kai on a downward spiral and caused friction with new girlfriend, Trina Robinson (Tabyana Ali).
Drew Cain promised Kai Taylor too much
That’s when Drew entered Kai’s life. Drew offered to bankroll an experimental, and dangerous, surgery that could possibly restore Kai’s spine enough so that he could play football again.
Kai saw this as an extremely generous offer, but Trina saw through Drew’s manipulation. Drew wanted to film a documentary about his good deed for all the world to see and Kai was simply his pawn.
But the surgery wasn’t as successful as Kai had hoped. He still faces a future without football. Of course, Drew agreed to cancel the documentary since it wasn’t the success story Drew wanted for his rapidly tarnishing image.
Drew Cain found another use for Kai Taylor
After that, Drew switched gears and offered Drew an internship working for him. Of course, this caused a wedge between Kai and Trina.
Although they repaired their relationship, they agreed that their opinions regarding Drew would remain miles apart from each other.
But Kai overheard Trina’s parents plotting against Drew, so decided to betray Trina’s family by informing Drew of their plans.
This was a step too far for Trina, who dumped Kai on the spot. Kai still doesn’t believe he did anything wrong although he’s sorry Trina was hurt by his actions.
Kai Taylor sees the real Drew Cain
But sooner rather than later, Kai is going to finally see Drew for the monster he is. It won’t be long before Kai discovers that it was Drew who is having Stella Henry (Vernae Watson) investigated for insurance fraud.
Kai and Stella have become close, and once Kai realizes that Trina was right all along about Drew, he’s going to want to apologize.
Trina has already shown signs that she might forgive Kai, but can she really forget how he betrayed their family, especially once she learns the full extent of Drew’s actions?
