Earlier this month — on April 10, to be exact — Finola Hughes celebrated 40 years since her debut as Anna Devane, the iconic soap character she’s played on General Hospital for decades and briefly brought over to All My Children. As a special gift to commemorate her long career, some of Hughes’ fans turned her into a collectible fashion doll! The actress shared an unboxing video of the beautifully crafted one-of-a-kind art doll created by HeXtian, an artist with a large following on social media for their incredible doll-making skills. However, the doll that HeXtian designed for Hughes was not of her as Anna Devane, but of her likeness in the cult classic 1983
dance film Staying Alive, the Saturday Night Fever sequel starring John Travolta!“This is a doll created by HeXtian, who is a famous doll artist. And some of my fans commissioned him to make this doll, which is me,” the GH star explained in her video, which had the Bee Gees song “Night Fever” playing in the background. “See her face there? That was me in Staying Alive when I played the character of Laura. And this is the exact outfit that I was wearing at the end of the movie, which was designed by Bob Mackie.”The Laura doll is dressed in the red glittery bodysuit, complete with jeweled headband, that Hughes donned for the movie’s finale in which Laura and Travolta’s Tony Manero share a high-energy dance on the Broadway stage. “HeXtian, you did an unbelievable job with this,” the actress raved. “This is absolutely beautiful. You are an incredible artist, and everybody should check you out on YouTube. And go and see some of his gorgeous videos about all the wonderful dolls that he creates.“And to my fans who thought of this, to celebrate beginning on General Hospital 40 years ago — because this is me 40 years ago. I mean, I kinda looked like this,” she added with a laugh. “Thank you very much, HeXtian. I am so, so thrilled with this.”
