General Hospital (GH) recap for Wednesday, May 14, reveals that Drew Cain (Cameron Mathison) pitched a plan to make Michael Corinthos (last played by Chad Duell) look like an absentee father while Carly Spencer (Laura Wright) got ready to fight in court.
At home, Willow Corinthos (Katelyn MacMullen) opened the door to Nina Reeves (Cynthia Watros), who assured her daughter that she believed Drew if Willow did.
That left Willow grateful for Nina’s support.
After someone showed up to serve Willow with legal documents, she was horrified over Michael moving full-speed ahead with the divorce and his push for custody of the children.
At the Metro Court, Ezra Boyle (Daniel Cosgrove) fished to find out if Drew paid Jacinda (Paige Herschell) to leave town.
Drew stood by his innocence in the whole situation and questioned if Ezra knew about Jacinda hanging around anyone new recently.
That led to Ezra offering updates on Nina popping up to talk to Jacinda when they were together.
At another table, Lulu Spencer (Alexa Havins Bruening) caught up with Lucky Spencer (Jonathan Jackson) and Laura Collins (Genie Francis) over a meal, so she revealed that she was putting her adoption article on hold.
After Lucky took off, Ezra sauntered over and pushed Laura’s buttons about Rocco Falconeri’s (Finn Carr) drunken drama.
Laura wound up throwing a drink in Ezra’s face and delighted Lulu in the process.
At Elizabeth Baldwin’s (Rebecca Herbst) place, she opened the door to Ric Lansing (Rick Hearst) and was surprised to see his fancy sports car parked out front.
Liz suddenly had a memory of the crash and recalled how Ric said something about the brakes.
Ric covered by acting like he couldn’t use the brakes properly because of the black ice they slid on.
In the end, Ric thought it was best for everyone if they just put the accident in the rearview mirror.
Once Ric was gone, Lucky came home and found out about Liz’s pre-crash memory.
Elizabeth mentioned Ric’s black ice explanation and how he said the insurance company took the totaled car.
After Drew made it home, he joined Willow and Nina for a strategy session.
Drew called Ric to come serve as Willow’s lawyer, so Ric found out all the Michael-related info and took the case.
Ric wanted to file for a postponement until they could get dirt to use on Michael, but Drew didn’t think that was necessary.
Since Michael chose to get treated in another country and didn’t contact the kids through Willow directly, Drew’s plan was to make Michael seem like an absentee father.
The goal was to make it look like Michael essentially abandoned Wiley Corinthos (Viron Weaver) and Amelia Corinthos (Sequoia and Serenity Mork Macko).
At Carly’s place, she was with Jason Morgan (Steve Burton) when Diane Miller (Carolyn Hennesy) showed up to discuss a disaster that Carly set in motion.
Since Carly pushed Diane to get the ball rolling on court proceedings, they had a problem.
The judge had an opening in his schedule much sooner than they anticipated, so the court date was happening in just a couple weeks.
Diane revealed that Michael would be expected in court on June 2, so there were concerns since he was still recovering in Germany and didn’t know about any of this.
Although Diane could push for a postponement and claim Michael had a medical setback, that was something Willow and Drew could use in their favor when it came to custody of the children.
Jason fumed over Carly creating a situation where Michael could lose custody of Wiley and Amelia thanks to her move behind his back.
Carly determined that they had to keep the court date and that she’d fight for the children on Michael’s behalf.
Diane was on board since they could use all Drew’s scandalous press lately and make it look like the children weren’t safe under his roof.
However, there was a catch since even if Willow lost custody, the kids could still end up with Nina instead of Carly.
Carly was willing to take the risk and move forward with this plan.
At Lulu’s house, Kristina Corinthos-Davis (Kate Mansi) told Dante Falconeri (Dominic Zamprogna) about Alexis Davis (Nancy Lee Grahn) almost having her committed and wasn’t sure she could ever forgive her mom for that.
Talk turned to Ric’s crash, so Kristina mentioned something about how smashed up the passenger side was.
Dante wondered how Kristina knew what the car looked like following the accident, so that put her on the spot.
At the law office, Alexis summoned Damian Spinelli (Bradford Anderson) for a top-secret mission that could help save Kristina’s life.
Spinelli didn’t get many details, but he agreed to help figure out where Ric’s totaled car was.
After Spinelli did some research on the tow trucks that picked up cars from the lot, he found out Ava had Ric’s vehicle taken to a storage facility.
At GH, Kai Taylor’s (Jens Austin Astrup) recovery and physical therapy were going well, so he sought Stella Henry’s (Vernee Watson) help to get discharged today.
Although Kai wanted to be there and support Trina Robinson’s (Tabyana Ali) Nurses Ball performance, Stella had disappointing news since his doctors wouldn’t sign off.
Nevertheless, Stella hinted that it was still possible for Kai to get released in time for the Nurses Ball, so he had some hope.
Meanwhile, Josslyn Jacks (Eden McCoy) met up with Trina for a Nurses Ball rehearsal and filled her in on getting the research assistant gig over Emma Scorpio-Drake (Braedyn Bruner).
Trina was happy for Josslyn and suggested it wasn’t like Josslyn stole the position, so she hoped Emma would cool off.
Josslyn also learned that Trina would be bailing on her immediately after their Nurses Ball performance to focus on Kai.
General Hospital spoilers say Kai may have a big surprise in store for Trina, so stay tuned.
