General Hospital (GH) recap for Tuesday, September 2, reveals that Drew Cain (Cameron Mathison) got a double gunshot wound, so Trina Robinson (Tabyana Ali) and Kai Taylor (Jens Austin Astrup) hid while the shooter struck.
At Alexis Davis’ (Nancy Lee Grahn) place, she spoke with Curtis Ashford (Donnell Turner) about how Drew could continue to stir up legal trouble for Stella Henry (Vernee Watros).
Both Curtis and Alexis agreed Drew had become a monster who had to be stopped.
In Drew’s office, Trina told Kai about the blackmail material that Drew was holding over Portia Robinson’s (Brook Kerr) head, so he used his key to get them in Drew’s place.
Kai assumed the evidence they needed to destroy was in Drew’s safe, so he kept trying wrong combinations and hoping Drew wouldn’t come back too soon.
In Carly Spencer’s (Laura Wright) office, Drew gloated about being back together with Willow Tait (Katelyn MacMullen) before strutting off.
Elizabeth Baldwin (Rebecca Herbst) tried to convince Carly that Willow felt forced into this position and that she’d back off Drew if Michael Corinthos (Rory Gibson) let her see the kids.
At the Brown Dog Bar, Nina Reeves (Cynthia Watros) met with Portia and blamed herself for Drew being allowed to run amok like this.
Nina felt that if she’d just come clean about her passionate encounters with Drew early on, things wouldn’t have spiraled this far out of control.
Portia took responsibility for her own mistakes and gave Nina the news that her marriage was over.
Nina and Portia were ultimately in agreement that as long as Drew was breathing, none of them would have freedom.
Later, a waiter seemed surprised to find Nina and Portia’s table empty, but there was money on the table to pay for drinks.
Since Jason Morgan (Steve Burton) told Danny Morgan (Asher Antonyzyn) to call Sonny Corinthos (Maurice Benard) if anything happened while he was out of town, Danny summoned Sonny over the body discovery on Pier 55.
Sonny assessed the situation before calling the cops, so it wasn’t long until Anna Devane (Finola Hughes) showed up to question Sonny, Danny and Rocco Falconeri (Finn Carr).
Dante Falconeri (Dominic Zamprogna) helped with the investigation as well and identified the strangled victim as the judge who handled Michael’s custody case.
Sonny was adamant that he wouldn’t have involved the boys in something like this, so Dante believed his innocence.
Considering where Judge Eva Heran’s (Tessa Auberjonois) body was discovered and its proximity to Spoon Island, Sonny dropped hints about Jenz Sidwell (Carlo Rota) being a suspect.
At GH, Harrison Chase (Josh Swickard) told Willow about speaking with Judge Heran off the record and feeling optimistic about her visitation ruling, but Willow revealed her Drew reunion plan to get her children back.
Although Chase urged Willow to see that she didn’t need Drew, the congressman interrupted and pushed Chase to mind his own business.
Chase stood up for Willow, who seemed pleased over his defense of her.
However, Willow fed Drew’s ego by standing by him and insisting he was the only one she’d listen to when it came to her kids.
Once Dante spoke with Chase over the phone about Judge Heran’s murder, Chase told Willow about it.
Willow feared she’d lost her opportunity to get her kids back and took off in a hurry.
As for Chase, he spoke to Anna about some evidence and a suspect that he had in mind for Heran’s murder.
At Aurora, Michael filled Kristina Corinthos-Davis (Kate Mansi) in on the bribery situation and how it could be a problem.
Sonny eventually called with updates on Judge Heran’s demise, so he told Kristina about that too and realized the situation just got worse.
Carly also called Michael to let him know Willow was back together with Drew, but Michael hinted about Drew having no idea how quickly things could change.
Next, Kristina made it back to Alexis’ place and called out for her mom, but Alexis was nowhere to be found.
Once Drew returned home, Kai and Trina abandoned their safe mission so they could hide in the bedroom.
Drew got a drink, looked a pic of himself with Willow and gazed at her engagement ring before declaring it would all work out.
Someone mysterious shot Drew from behind, so he looked shocked and fell to the floor with a wound to the back.
The shooter wasn’t done and fired another bullet into Drew while Trina and Kai panicked in hiding.
General Hospital spoilers say Drew’s whodunit will come with more shockers, so stay tuned!
