General Hospital (GH) recap for Tuesday, August 5, reveals that Jenz Sidwell (Carlo Rota) schemed to create a judge bribery mess for Sonny Corinthos (Maurice Benard). Carly Spencer (Laura Wright) also rejected Willow Tait’s (Katelyn MacMullen) apology, so here’s how Tuesday’s episode played out.
At the Metro Court, Tracy Quartermaine (Jane Elliot) told Sidwell and Marco Rios (Adrian Anchondo) about the Sonny money laundering situation and how she was going to take the evidence to the cops.
Sidwell and Marco advised against it since it could mean losing Deception, but Tracy wasn’t eager to take their advice.
ADA Justine Turner (Nazneen Contractor) eventually showed up and called Marco out on his fake story to cover up Sonny’s kidnapping plot, but Marco stuck with his version of events.
Later, Sidwell spoke privately to Marco about a weapon that wouldn’t miss.
Sidwell hinted about the massive, untraceable payment that showed up in Judge Eva Heran (Tess Auberjonois) account back when the custody hearing happened.
After Sidwell suggested Sonny would be suspected of bribing the judge, Marco understood that would give Willow the upper hand in her custody appeal.
Plus, Michael Corinthos (Rory Gibson) would turn against Sonny if he thought his father bribed the judge and was foolish enough to get caught.
If Sonny wanted to avoid all this blowing up, Sidwell said he’d have no choice but to fall into line.
Marco wondered why Sidwell hadn’t already used this leverage, but Sidwell suggested that timing was everything.
At the Metro Court pool, Sonny and Jason Morgan (Steve Burton) talked about the softball game they just played.
Jason had been distracted, so he confessed it was because of Britt Westbourne (Kelly Thiebaud) and shared all the clues that she was alive.
Although Jason thought he should honor Britt’s decision and stay away if she faked her death, Sonny suggested Britt deserved to know Jason was alive, too.
ADA Turner came along and taunted Sonny over what she believed was his rigged baseball game win.
Afterward, Sonny told Jason that he was letting Turner establish a pattern with all these public tiffs – one that would lead to her having to recuse herself from any case against him due to bias.
In Jack Brennan’s (Chris McKenna) office, Anna Devane (Finola Hughes) complained about him abducting her.
Brennan argued that he was trying to save Anna from a life sentence in Steinmauer since she was about to ruin a level-five operation.
Next, Brennan gave Anna the full scoop on everything that had played out with Professor Henry “Hank” Dalton (Daniel Goddard) Josslyn Jacks (Eden McCoy) and Vaughn (Bryce Durfree).
Once Anna had been briefed, Brennan pointed out that she couldn’t spill or else she’d go down for treason.
Anna was still concerned about Emma Scorpio-Drake (Braedyn Bruner) and knew there’d be “hell to pay” once Carly found out Brennan recruited Josslyn.
As for Josslyn and Vaughn’s current mission, Brennan downplayed the danger and acted like they’d come back from Dalmatia just fine.
The wheels started turning for Anna as she flashed back to Jason telling her Britt’s tote bag was from a hotel in Dalmatia.
At GH, Carly patched things up with Lucas Jones (Van Hansis), but he refused to move back in.
Even so, Carly gave Lucas his key back so he could use it for holidays and whenever else he wanted to visit.
At the Metro Court, Curtis Ashford (Donnell Turner) wanted to celebrate with Portia Robinson (Brook Kerr) now that Drew Cain (Cameron Mathison) had agreed to a truce.
Curtis also wanted to work on fixing their marriage and had been reminded of Portia’s good side when she stood up to Drew.
At the Quartermaine mansion, Michael admitted to Dante Falconeri (Dominic Zamprogna) that he had a new theory about who was targeting Daisy Gilmore (Brenden and Evelyn Beimford).
The more Michael thought about it, the more convinced he was that it had to be Willow.
If Michael was right, he insisted this changed everything and proved it was too dangerous for the kids to be around her.
At GH, Willow got emotional as Harrison Chase (Josh Swickard) visited her and shared some stories about Wiley Corinthos (Viron Weaver) and Amelia Corinthos (Sequoia and Serenity Mork Macko) from the Quartermaine mansion.
Willow was upset over missing so much and regretted causing a scene at Carly’s place.
Now Willow knew she had to put the work in ahead of this October hearing and undo the damage.
Chase gave Willow a pep talk and even offered to testify on Willow’s behalf if she needed him to, so she hugged him.
When Carly came along, Willow let her know how sorry she was for everything.
Carly suggested she’d been through this before with Nelle Benson (Chloe Lanier), so she didn’t buy Willow’s apologies now.
Besides, Carly argued that she wasn’t the one who Willow needed to apologize to anyway.
