General Hospital (GH) recap for Monday, July 7, reveals that Lulu Spencer (Alexa Havins Bruening) slapped Brook Lynn Quartermaine (Amanda Setton) while Sonny Corinthos (Maurice Benard) walked free at the PCPD. Vaughn (Bryce Durfee) also cozied up to Emma Scorpio-Drake (Braedyn Bruner), so here’s how all Monday’s action played out.
At Wyndemere, Anna Devane (Finola Hughes) showed up to grill Jenz Sidwell (Carlo Rota) about Natalia Ramirez’s (Eva LaRue) demise, but he denied any involvement and pointed the finger at Sonny Corinthos (Maurice Benard) instead.
Later, Anna got her hands on Natalia’s autopsy at GH, where Marco Rios (Adrian Anchondo) popped up and wanted to know what it said.
At the PCPD, Laura Collins (Genie Francis) refused to distance herself from Sonny and embraced him right as Ezra Boyle (Daniel Cosgrove) entered.
Ezra filmed the hug on his phone, but Laura got an officer to make him delete it since that was illegal in a police interrogation room.
Next, Anna came with updates on Natalia’s autopsy, which proved she died of a lethal combo of drugs and alcohol.
Whether it happened accidentally or intentionally, it wasn’t murder according to Anna.
Ezra acted like Sonny could still be behind the overdose, but Anna let the mob boss go.
Once Marco brought the latest news to his father, Sidwell assured him that they wouldn’t drop this like the PCPD.
Outside the Quartermaine boathouse, Michael Corinthos (Rory Gibson) told Brook about Willow Tait’s (Katelyn MacMullen) unsettling encounter with Wiley Corinthos (Viron Weaver) at the pool.
Brook Lynn also talked to Michael about not being able to go through with her revenge on Lulu since it would’ve hurt Rocco Falconeri (Finn Carr).
Michael eventually helped Sasha Gilmore Corbin (Sofia Mattsson) dress Daisy Gilmore (Levi Clark Coughlin) for bed, so Sasha acknowledged that they made a good team.
Back with Brook Lynn, she managed to hash things out with Cody Bell (Josh Kelly) over all the secrets of the past.
Cody and Brook Lynn ended up hugging as they got their friendship back on track.
Once the fireworks got underway, Sasha heard Daisy on the baby monitor and went to check on her. When Sasha found that Daisy was missing from her crib, she went into panic mode.
At the pool, Giovanni “Gio” Palmieri (Giovanni Mazza) spoke with Emma briefly before asking Carly Spencer (Laura Wright) about Sonny.
Since Tracy Quartermaine (Jane Elliot) had been trashing Sonny, Gio sought Carly’s opinion on him. Carly admitted Sonny had done things he wasn’t proud of, but he loved his family.
In the end, Carly suggested Gio should talk to Dante about the complexities of Sonny since he’d struggled with similar questions about his own father.
Carly also joined Josslyn Jacks (Eden McCoy), who shut her laptop to cover up her Professor Henry “Hank” Dalton (Daniel Goddard) research.
When Carly noticed Josslyn staring at Vaughn once he arrived, she urged her daughter to go talk to him.
Josslyn and Vaughn were on the same page about forgetting the kiss outside Charlie’s Pub.
The WSB duo had a strategy session about using a love of animals to help Vaughn get close to Emma, but he also wanted to know what would trigger her.
Josslyn admitted Emma thought she was an entitled brat, so Vaughn realized he could bond with Emma over that.
Since Emma was nearby to witness it, Josslyn publicly dumped Vaughn and made a big scene.
Emma eventually brought Vaughn a drink and bonded with him over Josslyn’s flaws – just like Joss and Vaughn had planned.
Vaughn also talked to Emma about the animal rights’ group he’d heard about, so she pointed out that she started it.
Emma was eager to talk more and locked arms with Vaughn during the fireworks as Josslyn watched.
At home, Lulu called Dante Falconeri (Dominic Zamprogna) to help her answer Rocco’s questions about Britt Westbourne (Kelly Thiebaud).
Dante and Lulu assured Rocco that they always planned to tell him everything, but then Lulu ended up in a coma.
Since Lulu woke up, there’d been a lot of other drama happening that got in the way of the truth.
Rocco worried that Britt might be his real mom, but Lulu insisted he was genetically her son as well as Dante’s.
After Lulu and Dante spilled about Britt stealing their embryo, they assured Rocco that he was wanted and loved.
Rocco explained how he saw the two birth certificates in a file with his name on it.
Lulu found out it was in Brook Lynn’s Deception work pile and later confronted Brook Lynn outside the Q boathouse.
After Lulu called Brook Lynn a “hateful bitch,” she added that hurting Rocco was unforgivable and slapped her hard across the face.
