The popular cast member shared the news exclusively with us, as we caught up on the red carpet at the British Soap Awards at the weekend.
Asha’s job as a student paramedic has seen her play a supporting role in dramatic stories this year, including the deaths of Mason Radcliffe and Craig Tinker.

“There is actually a lot coming up for Asha, which is really exciting to say,” she enthused. “The filming literally starts on my birthday (9 June), so happy birthday to me!
“But I’ve got a very, very busy few months coming up. All through summer, all into the autumn. So that’s really exciting. I think you guys are going to be loving it. So I hope I do a good enough job.”
Asked whether this will be an issue-based story, Tanisha replied: “Yes, it’s heavily involved with her job. We know that she’s a student paramedic. The facts of [this issue] are a little bit scary.
“It’s sad that it happens and it’s true. I think it’s very real to life and very prominent in that field and in that workplace. But it’s great to be trusted with it. It’ll be amazing to play.”

Tanisha has been praised for her performances in previous big stories, including Asha’s skin-lightening plot in 2019 and her ordeal when a private photo was leaked to her peers at school in 2020.
The British Soap Awards 2025 took place at the Hackney Empire in London on Saturday evening (31 May).
Fans can watch the ceremony this Thursday (5 June) at 8pm on ITV1 and ITVX.
