Emmerdale‘s Kammy Hadiq makes a bad decision next week, when he steals young Clemmie Reed’s phone from Home Farm.
The theft occurs after horrified Vinny Dingle realises that he’s forgotten the anniversary of his and Gabby Thomas’s first kiss and enlists new pal Kammy’s help in winning back her heart at Kim Tate’s manor…
“It’s Kammy’s first time entering Home Farm – when he steps into this place, it’s almost like something like you see in movies,” reveals Shebz Miah, who plays him.
“Everything’s just so out of his depth, he’s never come across anything like this and he’s just absorbing everything.

“You know the saying: ‘this is how the other half live’? It’s his first taste at something like that, so when he enters Home Farm he’s astounded by all these little things.”
As Kammy takes in the big house in all its luxurious glory, his attention is soon diverted when he spots Clemmie’s brand-new phone lying unattended, despite Vinny’s warnings to focus on what they came for…
“Kammy goes in there initially trying to help Vinny prepare for the anniversary, but Kammy’s very opportunistic,” Shebz continues.
“His instincts kick in and he sees an opportunity and decides to snap it up and act like nothing ever happened.”

Later on, Gabby is delighted when she arrives at the scrapyard and sees the romantic scene Vinny and Kammy have laid on for her. Yet as their special evening is getting under way, Kammy sneaks off to make a call, organising the sale of Clemmie’s stolen phone…
“He’s quite street-smart, he knows it’s an expensive phone,” says Shebz.
“That obviously doesn’t sit well morally with anyone because he is robbing, but for Kammy, it’s his survival instincts – he’s doing it for a reason, there’s something bigger.”

“Kammy’s in a position to take the phone because from his point of view, a child shouldn’t even be having such an expensive phone,” adds Shebz.
“The stakes are not as high – he’s just like, ‘Yeah, it’s a kid, whatever’. That’s why he doesn’t have as much remorse – he knows it’s wrong, but he’s not really bothered by the repercussions.”
But will Kammy’s choice have criminal consequences? Or worse, vengeful action against him from the all-powerful Tates?
