Emmerdale has scrapped the early ITVX release for Wednesday’s (28 May) episode, with fans excited for the developments.
The next instalment of the ITV soap will see Aaron Dingle and John Sugden tie the knot after weeks of anticipation, though one can expect it won’t go completely swimmingly given the nature of soap storytelling.
In a scheduling shake-up, the broadcaster confirmed via their social media channels that the instalment won’t be uploaded to streaming service ITVX at 7am like most episodes, with viewers instead having to wait until the episode airs at 7.30pm on ITV1.
“FYI: Emmerdale will not be available to stream tomorrow (Wed 28th) at 7am on ITVX,” read the caption on the Instagram post. “So we’ll see you all at 7.30pm on ITV1 instead, yeah? You bring the biscuits and we’ll make the brews (we’ll try to not spill any tea 👀)🫖”
The post, which included a photo of Aaron and John in their wedding attire, received a comment from Danny Miller, with the actor – who debuted as Aaron in 2008 – jokingly writing: “What?!!!!!!!!!!”

“@danny_b_miller so annoying x” wrote one fan in response, with another adding: “@danny_b_miller that’s my reaction like what the heck?????😂” Several other fans also joked with the actor, calling him a “tease”.
“It must be exciting if we have to wait,” remarked one fan on the post, with another commenting: “Ooh exciting tea 🫖 incoming.”
“Run for your life Aaron! (literally lol)” quipped one fan as they referenced John’s murky character, while another said they were “excited” for the episode.

While fans will have to wait a few hours longer for the instalment, we can be sure that it will be a dramatic 30 minutes, with John – whose secrets have gradually been unveiled over the past few weeks – having to put on a strong façade under increasing pressure.
While specific details of the episode remain under wraps, Miller did tease aspects of the instalment during an appearance on Loose Women, sharing: “What I will say is there are some surprises… You’ll just have to wait and see.”
