John Sugden (Oliver Farnworth) is a very stressed man in Emmerdale.
Just a few weeks ago, he conjured up a plan that saw him frame another character for Nate Robinson’s (Jurell Carter) murder.
John hoped that framing Owen Michaels (Simon Haines) would give Cain Dingle (Jeff Hordley) and Tracy Shankley (Amy Walsh) some closure. He arrived at Owen’s and found him unconscious after taking drugs, and then wrote a fake note on Owen’s laptop while the man’s life slipped away from him.
The note confirmed that Owen killed Nate so when the police found this and his body, it was pretty much confirmation that Nate’s case would be closed soon.
Cain and Tracy reeled in the aftermath, but they have spent time trying to come to terms with the development. Yesterday though, the emotions were brought up once more when DC Cole arrived with some news.
The detective told Cain that the police aren’t sure if Owen killed Nate and in tonight’s episode, we learnt they had this theory because Owen’s suicide note saved on his computer after his time of death.

As John listened to DC Cole tell Liam Cavanagh (Jonny McPherson) this, he couldn’t help but let his stress levels increase.
John arrived back at the flat and ranted to Aaron Dingle (Danny Miller). He said that all he’s done since arriving in the village is ‘give, give, give’ and no-one has bothered to return the favour for him.
Aaron felt bad as he listened to John, but the medic was unaware his husband was also feeling guilty after sleeping with Robert Sugden (Ryan Hawley) yesterday.
With Aaron still believing that he’s meant to be with John, he suggested that the two of them leave – for longer than a little holiday.

Aaron and John confirmed in the pub a while later that they would be going away for a short break, but intend on turning it into a more permanent thing if they like the area. Aaron told Chas Dingle (Lucy Pargeter) and the news was hard to hear for her, as she loves having her son around.
Behind John and Aaron were Tracy, Liam and Cain sitting in a booth. Liam was supporting Cain and Tracy, who were discussing Nate’s killer potentially still lurking somewhere.
John had overheard this and knew he needed to take action. He made a call and told someone on the other end that he needs some help to tie up a loose end.
With John and Aaron keen on departing, another exit is potentially on the cards for Mackenzie Boyd (Lawrence Robb).
Rumours are currently circulating that John will kill Mackenzie after he discovers the truth about him.
A source told us: ‘The John story has so many twists and turns to come and this will come as a genuine surprise to fans.

‘Mack has survived quite a lot over the years but his time is well and truly up this time.
‘What his exit does is set the stage for an exciting next stage to John’s saga later in the autumn that will leave fans quite literally on edge.’
A trailer has also been revealed that shows John lifting a huge rock up in the air, presumably preparing to hit Mack with it.
