Emmerdale has teased the unveiling of a big secret as a body was uncovered from the recently dredged lake.
Tonight’s episode saw John Sugden and Aaron Dingle finally tie the knot, after their wedding was crashed by Aaron’s ex-husband and John’s half-brother, Robert Sugden.
Despite sharing a kiss, Aaron made it clear to Robert that he was going ahead with the marriage, and returned to exchange his vows. The pair were later given a warm send-off as they left for their honeymoon in a questionably decorated van.
Meanwhile, Caleb, Ruby, Cain and Chas received a huge shock as they bid farewell to the newlyweds. Cain’s son Kyle cycled over to tell them he saw police divers bringing a body out of the lake.

Cain asked if he was sure that’s what he saw, and Kyle confirmed the news, adding that PC Swirling was also at the scene.

The foursome feared that the body belonged to Ruby’s father Anthony, having recently covered up his murder. They assumed John, who disposed of the body, had dumped it in the lake.
“It’s my dad, isn’t it? John must’ve put his body in the lake,” worried Ruby said, as Caleb tried to calm her down.
Chas added to the panic, pointing out that it would be a “bit of a coincidence” if the body wasn’t Anthony’s. “So much for John putting him somewhere he couldn’t be found,” added Cain.

“The police are gonna wanna question us as soon as he’s identified,” declared Ruby. “We’re going to prison, aren’t we?”
However, viewers know that the dead body in the lake actually belongs to Nate Robinson.
Nate was believed to have left the village for a new job last September, before it was revealed that he was dead during the Valentine’s Day limo crash incident. Last month, viewers discovered that John had accidentally killed the farmhand and dumped his body in the lake.
