These two lovers remain as solid as ever, despite months of drama — including keeping Philip’s fraud under wraps, a secret that ultimately came to light and caused chaos.

1. 1. Alex asked Kate (Lauren Koslow) to give her honest opinion of Stephanie’s book. Does Kate have a recommendation for Alex now? There was a time, back when Kate was their boss on the soap opera they worked on, that she forbade them from seeing each other.

Xander (Paul Telfer) is free and runs into Kayla (Mary Beth Evans) outside the Brady Pub after he lost the chance to buy University Hospital. Kayla supported him originally, but that was before he beat up his half brother Philip, placing him in that very hospital to fight for his life.Xander is looking at an adorable little dress he has bought for his daughter, Victoria. Will her mother, Sarah, and her grandmother, Maggie, give him the chance to give it to her? Both are angry that he lashed out at Philip, almost killing him.

1. EJ (Dan Feuerriegel) and Xander run into each other in the middle of Horton Town Square. The two battled for control of University Hospital, with EJ clocking the win. Xander still has control of EJ’s family’s company, DiMera Enterprises. Will the men keep their cool when they see each other?
2. It’s been an emotional day for Belle (Martha Madison), as she says goodbye to her beloved father, John. Shawn (Brandon Beemer) wants to support her. He still feels guilty that John died while saving his own father, Bo.Jada (Elia Cantu) and Shawn have been growing closer, while her friendship with Belle has grown increasingly strained due to Belle’s involvement with EJ. Will Jada reach out to Belle now that she’s suffered such a heartbreaking loss?Jada and Belle take a moment to connect. Will their conversation be strictly about losing a father, which Jada knows all too well, or will the topic of Shawn, who both women have been with, come up?Jada has to be happy that Shawn has his father, Bo, back in his life but will she also be looking for answers to how far he went to make it happen?Seeing Belle accept comfort from her ex-husband, Shawn, can’t sit well with EJ. He wants to be there for her, but she hasn’t let him so far. Will EJ try again, or is this the final nail in their once-budding romance?
