Coronation Street star Harriet Bibby has teased that next week’s teen drugs storyline will have some long-lasting consequences.
In scenes set to air in the coming days, Aadi Alahan throws a party at Number 7, inviting sister Asha, Nina Lucas, Dylan Wilson, Amy Barlow, Lauren Bolton, Summer Spellman and Betsy Swain.
However, Brody Michaelis turns up trying to sell LSD. Aadi kicks him out, but Summer convinces Nina to take some of the drugs.
The two then experience some frightening hallucinations, while a third person also takes some and has a violent reaction.

Speaking about the storyline, Summer actor Bibby said: “I think when you find yourselves in quite dangerous situations, and it’s not just Summer and Nina who are affected, you look back and think that was a really stupid idea.

“It affects a lot of different people in different ways and it could have been avoided if these drugs were not at the party.”

The star added that adopted dad Billy Mayhew will find out about the party and goes a bit mad at first, but due to his own history with drugs his anger quickly turns to concern.
Bibby added that she’s enjoying getting to play this new side of Summer, stating: “It’s very easy to fit Summer in a little box but sometimes we find out these things that we don’t know about her, even me reading it and finding out she’s a bit of a dark horse with a life we haven’t seen on screen!”
