Craig’s Memorial Brings Everyone Together
At the Bistro, Weatherfield people gather to pay their respects to Craig’s memory. Lisa Swain sits with Maria Connor, Kirk Sutherland, and others for what is intended to be an emotional tribute to the deceased PC.
Prior to the service, Kit Green had committed to speaking a few words. Craig’s family actually requested him in person to speak, and Lisa assumed he’d be the one who would head up the memorial.
But when the event gets under way, Kit nowhere appears, and worry begins.
Lisa starts worrying about Kit’s disappearance, particularly since Craig had admired him so much. Bernie and Sarah attempt to discover where he has gone, while Lisa starts to understand that Kirk isn’t in any condition to talk either.
Lisa Fills the Gap in Coronation Street
Since there’s no appearance by Kit, Lisa takes it upon herself to address him. It’s an uncomfortable situation, but she gets through it and gives a beautiful eulogy. The speech ends up being one of the most emotional moments of the day, according to a show source.
At the same time, Carla quietly confides in Betsy about her concern for Lisa. She is aware that this has not been simple, and having witnessed all that Lisa has endured over the past while, she feels she can do something to assist.
