Coronation Street fans say the same thing about Brody and Kit amid new connection

Coronation Streets fans have noticed Jacob Roberts and Ryan Mulvey have something in common.

The stars play Kit Green and Brody Michaelis in the ITV soap. Brody hasn’t been in Weatherfield for very long after spending time in the STC, while Kit works as a copper alongside the likes of Craig Tinker (Colson Smith) and Lisa Swain (Vicky Myers).

Last week, it was revealed that Kit and Brody might share a connection, as flashback scenes confirmed that Kit slept with Brody’s mum Lou (Farrel Hegarty) when they were younger. In the present day, Kit managed to work out there’s a high possibility Brody is actually his son, not Mick’s (Joe Layton).

As a result of seeing these two characters on our screens a lot more, soap fans have realised stars Jacob Roberts and Ryan Mulvey share a bit of a connection, given both of their previous roles were in Hollyoaks.

Jacob portrayed Damon Kinsella in the soap from 2017-2023, while Ryan played JJ Obsorne for about a year from 2024-January 2025.

Remembering their old characters and watching them play their Corrie ones has put some fans in a bit of a spin.

Taking to social media platform X, this user and Metro reader reacted to the connection between Brody and Kit and said: ‘The concept of hollyoaks character damon kinsella playing the father of jj osborne who plays a corrie character called brody which was also the name of damon’s bestfriend.’

This person added: ‘If someone had just told me a year ago that damon and jj would be over on the cobbles in a big storyline together i wouldn’t have believed you lmaooo’, while this account was all of us when a soap twist gets revealed, simply writing: ‘SORRY WHAT?’.

This week in Coronation Street, Kit’s connection to Brody will ultimately spark a devastating chain of events, as Mick confronts Lou and then puts other lives in danger.

Amid this, Craig is excited to shadow Kit as part of his CID placement, and makes plans for an internet date that evening.

With Kit having a lot of other things on his mind, Craig feels ignored and Lisa urges him to prove that he’s capable of taking on the position.

When he’s called out to investigate a disturbance, it’s just the ticket.

While we can’t reveal what happens next – we can say that an ambulance rushes to the scene and Craig’s life is left hanging in the balance.
