Theo Silverton’s (James Cartwright) uncontrollable temper reached new heights in tonight’s Coronation Street, which saw him take sickening action against boyfriend Todd Grimshaw (Gareth Pierce).
It was a difficult day for both men, with Todd dealing with a particularly heartbreaking funeral and Theo facing his ex-wife Danielle (Natalie Anderson) at mediation.
Danielle was adamant that she wanted sole custody of their kids, while Theo was willing to let her have them for 50% of the time. To make matters even worse, she brought new boyfriend Noah with her, which only made Theo even more uncomfortable.
Viewers know that Noah subjected Theo to conversion therapy as a teenager, and has since inserted himself into the family after finding out about Theo’s relationship with Todd.
The mediation meeting left Theo reeling and in need of support from Todd, who had sought comfort in the Rovers after his own stressful day.
Over the phone, Theo got frustrated to learn that Todd was at the pub, but denied wanting him to come home.
However, as the evening went on and Todd showed no signs of returning, Theo got drunk alone, before heading to the pub in search of his boyfriend.
From across the bar, he fumed as he watched Todd in conversation with Billy Mayhew (Daniel Brocklebank) as well as some of their other neighbours.
Having already made his feelings about Todd’s friendship with the vicar clear, Theo left without a word.
When Todd got home, he thoughtfully brought dinner for Theo in the form of a kebab, though the scaffolder made it clear he was disgusted by Todd’s actions.
Todd was confused as Theo lectured him on his diet, before lamenting about how he needed him while he was having fun with Billy, as the mediation had gone really badly.
However, when Todd reached out to comfort him, Theo turned violent as he slapped his hand away, and warned him to never touch his face again.
He got even nastier as he began belittling and berating his boyfriend, before force-feeding him some of the kebab.
When he finally let him go, Theo revealed that he had packed a bag and was leaving, and he never wanted to see Todd again.
