Chris McKenna is now on General Hospital, having taken over the role of Jack Brennan from Charles Mesure. But this week, he recalled his exit from The Young and the Restless 10 years ago. Read on for more details.
Ten Years Since His Y&R Exit
The ABC star shared his recollection of his exit via his Instagram Stories on the weekend. He did so by sharing a screenshot of a headline. No other words were really necessary, as the title said, “On this day…Chris McKenna made his final appearance on Y&R as Mark Harding 10 Years Ago Today.”

CBS and ABC fans cannot comment on stories, but it might be a good time to refresh memories on what happened when he exited the show, What did he do in the intervening years before he arrived on GH?
The Exit Was Without Fanfare
When Mark Harding left Y&R, it was without fuss and fanfare. In fact, he didn’t get killed off and no major announcements were made. Literally, the medical professional faded into the background, never to reappear. Mark was attending to Mariah Copeland (Camryn Grimes) following her mental health crisis, and then he wasn’t.
Following his departure in 2015, Chris McKenna secured roles in a number of other television series and films. His television work included a recurring role on State of Affairs as Nick Vera, as well as guest appearances on programs such as Criminal Minds, where he portrayed Congressman Benjamin Troy, and NCIS as Eric Webb.
Other Happenings In His Life
During the pandemic, news about the actor, also known for movies like Hidden Intentions, Bliss, The Will, and Suitable Flesh, arrived. He and Lovisa announced their engagement. That came in 2020, and in 2022, they tied the knot.
In July last year, the couple welcomed a cute little boy named Spencer J. McKenna. Often, sweet posts arrived on social media, which GH fans adore. Additionally, they adore having Chris McKenna back in daytime drama.
The Storyline Of Jack Brennan
His role, which came after a call by executive producer Frank Valentini, has Jack as a rather mysterious person in the WSB. He’s still getting into the role, and hopefully, he will stay for many years to come. For now, he remains the head of the WSB station chief in Port Charles, and his main role is collecting intelligence.
He recruited Josslyn Jacks into the WSB and seems to be developing a relationship with Carly Spencer (Laura Wright). He seems mysterious, and we don’t yet know what really motivates him, or whether he’s actually a good guy or not.
