General Hospital (GH) spoilers reveal that Maxie Jones (Kirsten Storms) may have a post-coma wedding coming up, but will Nathan West (Ryan Paevey) or Damian Spinelli (Bradford Anderson) be the groom?
At the moment, Maxie is struggling to wake up due to an unidentified enzyme in her blood.
Liesl Obrecht (Kathleen Gati) voiced concerns about Maxie falling into a coma – and that’s exactly the direction Maxie’s storyline seems to be headed in for her temporary exit.
However, Maxie will be back down the road and could get some new nuptials. Another marriage ceremony could be in Maxie’s future, so let’s talk about that.
In GH’s August 20 episode, Spinelli tried to convince Maxie to open her eyes so he could ask her to marry him.
That plan didn’t work, but it’s clear that Spinelli plans to ask Maxie as soon as she awakens.
Of course, things could get more complicated if Nathan is alive!
The show hasn’t confirmed whether Ryan Paevey is coming back as Nathan or another character, but we have to consider the possibility of a Maxie and Nathan reunion.
Nathan was Maxie’s husband until his sudden demise devastated her back in 2018.
If the real Nathan is back like Britt Westbourne (Kelly Thiebaud), that could pave the way for Maxie and Nathan to get back together.
Maxie may need new documentation if she wants Nathan to legally be her hubby again.
Besides, Nathan and Maxie would probably want to renew their vows anyway, so they might as well have another big wedding celebration.
It would absolutely devastate Spinelli if he had to watch Maxie tie the knot with someone else at this point, but that may be something he has to do.
On the other hand, Paevey’s character could be a clone or some other type of imposter.
It’s even possible Peter August (Wes Ramsey) could be back from the grave and decide to pose as Nathan through plastic surgery or a realistic mask.
In that case, Maxie may face more “Nathan” heartbreak in the end.
It could leave Maxie turning to Spinelli as her steady source of comfort and her forever person, so maybe he could still get his wedding wish after all.
