General Hospital (GH) recap for Thursday, August 7, reveals that Anna Devane’s (Finola Hughes) fire department twist enraged Emma Scorpio-Drake (Braedyn Bruner) while Cody Bell (Josh Kelly) and Ava Jerome (Maura West) shared an ice cube cooldown.
At GH, Ava invited Ric Lansing (Rick Hearst) to the pool, but he passed due to work – though it mostly seemed like he was more interested in hanging around Elizabeth Baldwin (Rebecca Herbst).
Ava texted Cody to invite him instead, so he joined her for some poolside flirting.
Cody called Ric an idiot for passing up the chance to hang out with Ava and gladly kept her company instead.
At the Metro Court restaurant, Alexis Davis (Nancy Lee Grahn) gave Kristina Corinthos-Davis (Kate Mansi) updates on her plan to drive Ric and Ava apart actually working.
Kristina was skeptical of Ava’s deal with Alexis and clearly felt guilty about sabotaging Molly Lansing-Davis’ (Kristen Vaganos) chance at a romance with Cody.
Molly eventually joined Alexis and Kristina, which led to a conversation about them spending more time with Scout Cain (Cosette Abinante).
Back at the pool, Ava used an ice cube to cool her body down and used a cube on Cody’s skin, too.
Kristina spied a close moment between Cody and Ava, so she made up an excuse about rowdy teenagers and told Molly they should head to the lake instead.
Meanwhile, Cody reminded Ava that she slapped him the last time they tried this, but she urged him to take the risk and ultimately kissed him.
Next, Drew Cain (Cameron Mathison) tracked Jenz Sidwell (Carlo Rota) down and pushed for Sonny Corinthos (Maurice Benard) dirt so he could help Willow Tait (Katelyn MacMullen) get her kids back.
If Drew didn’t get his way, he made it clear that he could make life difficult for Sidwell.
Sidwell was irritated over Drew’s threat before Drew met with Martin Grey (Michael E. Knight) at the Metro Court.
Drew wanted Martin to help Willow fight for her children, but the attorney admitted nothing could be done right now.
Soon after, Alexis asked Drew if Scout could go on a Davis girl outing and attend the ballet.
Drew said Scout was busy that day since they were going to look at schools in D.C. for when they moved there.
Back with Martin, Ric hired him since he needed to get out of his partnership with Ava – though she couldn’t know it was happening until the last minute.
At the pool again, Anna arrived with Outback in tow since she’d been barking like crazy.
That was unacceptable since no pets were allowed in Anna’s apartment, which meant they could get kicked out if someone heard and reported it.
Anna complained to Emma and Giovanni “Gio” Palmieri (Giovanni Mazza), but they convinced her to take Outback to work with her.
Gio claimed he was attending the lecture with Emma and raised some suspicions.
Trina Robinson (Tabyana Ali) spent some time with Emma and confessed that Josslyn Jacks (Eden McCoy) was worried about her.
Since Trina trusted Josslyn’s judgment regarding Professor Henry “Hank” Dalton (Daniel Goddard), she urged Emma not to take the research assistant job.
After Anna met up with Felicia Scorpio (Kristina Wagner), she admitted she thought Emma was going to make a move against Dalton tonight.
With that in mind, Anna called the fire department and inquired about the last time an inspection was done on that particular lecture hall.
It led to the lecture getting canceled, so Emma fumed and refused to let it deter her Dalton takedown mission.
At the Quartermaine mansion, Brook Lynn Quartermaine (Amanda Setton) spoke with Sonny about all the Rocco Falconeri (Finn Carr) drama.
Sonny also got the news that he was in the clear since Deception wasn’t taking the evidence to the cops.
Although Jordan Ashford (Tanisha Harper) still hadn’t found proof of Sidwell’s illegal activities, she suspected he was up to some shadiness with Marco Rios (Adrian Anchondo) and talked to Laura Collins (Genie Francis) about it.
Jordan knew she had to prove she was trustworthy and go deeper, but Laura seemed concerned about the risks she’d be taking.
Later, Anna brought Outback to her meeting with Laura and hid her around the sofa corner when Mabel the president of HOA showed up.
Mabel was there to report a crime and fumed over Laura meeting with the perpetrator herself.
This was about all the dog barking, but Anna played innocent until Mabel played a recording of Outback.
That got Outback’s attention too since she barked in response and made her presence known to Mabel.
Since Mabel was relentless, Laura felt that Anna would need to find another home for Outback.
Back with Sidwell, he met with Lucy Coe (Lynn Herring) and Jordan.
Lucy talked about the Deception meeting outcome and hoped that Maxie Jones (Kirsten Storms) would keep quiet about the buried Sonny evidence, but Sidwell seemed uneasy about it.
