Maurice Benard, General Hospital’s (GH) Sonny Corinthos, took to social media this weekend to let his many ABC fans know that the family had a special celebration at his home. Read on to find out what it was all about.
A Special Celebration
The big day was shared in a reel by Maurice on Instagram. It showed a wedding. Only, it wasn’t a wedding. Instead, it was a vow renewal, and it was held outdoors. Grandkids like little Tiana, a.k.a TT were also there, and everyone knows how much the GH star loves them.
In his caption, Maurice talked about the ceremony for Cailey and her husband Carlos Avila. He said:
My daughter @cailey_avila and @cavila628 renewed their wedding vows at the best place ever: My Home. It was very beautiful and a lot of fun. Let’s do it again.
Daytime Drama Fans React
On the ABC show, Sonny Corinthos might not be the sweetest man on the planet, but he does care for his family. The same goes for the real-life actor. Some of Maurice Benard’s colleagues commented on the vow renewal by TT’s mom.
Finola Hughes (Anna Devane) wrote, “I love your family, Mo. They have their priorities right and are full of love .”
Fans also sent in their thoughts about the wedding vow renewal at Maurice and Paula’s home. One of them said, “Congratulations. NO Place Like Home!”
Another one commented, “Just beautiful and many blessings.”
Then someone else penned, “How sweet!! Blessings for them today and always!”
Here’s another sweet sentiment: “Nothing more beautiful then (sic) seeing the endless celebrations of love again and again.”
Cailey became engaged in October of 2018 and reshared the memory on her then-Twitter account a year later.
Other Family News
Maurice Benard told his followers in early May that his other daughter, Cassidy, and her boyfriend, Anthony Cammarata, had gotten engaged. He described them as “soulmates”and looks forward to yet another wedding. The proposal went down at Disneyland in Tokyo.
In his latest post, when Maurice talked about doing it again, maybe he thinks it would be a great idea to renew vows with his wife, Paula Smith. They tied the knot in 1990. However, they sort of renewed their vows already. The big bash happened in a second wedding ten years later.
Their adopted daughter, Heather, married Phil Andresen, and they raise a daughter named Eloise Rose. Maurice and Paula also have another grandchild named Milo.
