Coronation Street fans are convinced they’ve rumbled Lou Michaelis’ new love interest
Coronation Street’s Lou Michaelis has had a tough time on the cobbles recently after her husband Mick Michaelis was arrested for the murder of Craig Tinker.
Soap watchers will recall that a drunken Mick armed with a baseball was out for revenge on Kit Green after learning about his affair with Lou when they were younger, meaning he could be son Brody’s biological dad.
After beating up Lou, it was Craig who met Mick’s wrath as he pulled him over for speeding and drink-driving. Mick attacked Craig with the baseball bat, leaving him lifeless in the road as he sped off.
Tragically, Craig later died in hospital from his injuries and after holding Kit, as well as Kit’s biological mother Bernie Winter hostage, Mick was finally arrested.
So far, Lou has been isolated from her fellow Weatherfield residents with her not welcome at the Rovers Return Inn and even sacked from her local hairdressing job.
After her card was declined in the pub, it was Gary Windass who came to her rescue as he gave his support to the struggling single mother.
Lou told Gary that she was sorry Mick gave him a beating, admitting she has had plenty herself over the years. Gary couldn’t help but feel sorry for Lou as he bought her a drink and gave a listening ear.
However, Gary’s wife, Maria Connor, who had fired Lou earlier in the episode, was left livid as she spotted the duo talking.
Yet, later on, after being given food for thought, Maria apologised for jumping the gun, giving Lou her job back.
Following Gary and Lou’s interaction, soap watchers are convinced the duo will embark in an affair.
Taking to Twitter, now X, one person said: “Calling it now – IF Lou is staying around long enough, I wonder if she’ll have an affair with Gary before she goes. #Corrie #CoronationStreet @itvcorrie.”
A different viewer wrote: “I think they may be pushing towards a Lou/Gary affair #Corrie #CoronationStreet @itvcorrie” while another added: “Gary, don’t be going down the Lou route #corrie.”

This comes as Coronation Street star Mikey North, who has played Gary Windass since 2008, teased recently: “There’s a lot to come with Lou!”
Speaking on Friday’s episode of Off Script… Coronation Street & Emmerdale with hosts Kelvin and Liz Fletcher, Mikey, 38, said: “Lou’s got a lot to come, you’ve not seen the last of her!”
