Alex meets Kate at the Pub with a pitch: a steamy anonymous novel that could revive Titan Publishing. He hands over the manuscript and promises it’s not a scam. Kate, intrigued yet wary, agrees to read it. If it works, she might just run Titan again.
Though she claims publishing was a “lifetime ago,” the potential to return entices her. Kate exits with the manuscript, promising they’ll talk—if it proves worthwhile.
Stephanie Realizes Her Manuscript Is Missing
At her apartment, Stephanie hands Jada some coffee before chatting about the EJ shooting. Shawn calls in “sick,” raising eyebrows. But Steph soon notices her manuscript is gone. She freaks out, tears through the place, then rushes out with Jada for breakfast.
Later, she bumps into Alex, who reveals he has the manuscript. Stephanie quickly backpedals—she no longer wants it published and begs him to drop the idea. He’s hesitant, but she insists.
