General Hospital (GH) recap for Monday, May 12, reveals that Tracy Quartermaine (Jane Elliot) pushes Jason Morgan (Steve Burton) to find her great-grandson while Professor Henry “Hank” Dalton (Daniel Goddard) hired Josslyn Jacks (Eden McCoy) over Emma Scorpio-Drake (Braedyn Bruner). Here’s how all the action on Monday’s show played out.
At Lulu Spencer’s (Alexa Havins Bruening) house, Jordan Ashford (Tanisha Harper) gave Laura Collins (Genie Francis) updates on her recent meeting and the concerns about Drew Cain’s (Cameron Mathison) push to make Ezra Boyle (Daniel Cosgrove) the next mayor.
Since Tracy didn’t defend Laura, that news concerned her.
However, Jordan pointed out Jenz Sidwell (Carlo Rota) might actually help Laura since he made an offer to buy Sonny Corinthos’ (Maurice Benard) piers.
Without Sonny as part of the referendum, Jordan thought it’d be easy for Laura to get reelected. Even so, Laura worried about Sidwell becoming the de facto mob boss of Port Charles.
At GH, Portia Robinson (Brook Kerr) claimed she was defending Drew because Curtis Ashford (Donnell Turner) could open Aurora up to a lawsuit with his bias.
Portia also pointed out that since Willow Corinthos (Katelyn MacMullen) was involved, it dragged the hospital into the mess.
In the end, Curtis decided to call off Aurora’s latest story going after Drew – at least for the time being.
Portia got Drew on the phone to let him know she was making progress with Curtis, so she hoped her positive predictions would appease her blackmailer.
At the Brown Dog Bar, Curtis met up with Jordan and confided that he thought Portia was lying to him.
At the Metro Court, Tracy sat down with Lulu and acknowledged that she knew about Brook Lynn Quartermaine’s (Amanda Setton) teenage adoption decision.
Lulu thought that the father deserved to know about his child, but Tracy didn’t think it was her business.
Although Lulu put up a fight on dropping the article, she ultimately caved in since that’s what Tracy wanted.
At another table, Josslyn had a catch-up session with Carly Spencer (Laura Wright), who revealed that Sonny had heart surgery in Los Angeles.
When Jack Brennan (Chris McKenna) joined them, Carly told Josslyn that he was in the loop on what happened with Sonny.
Josslyn got a text from Professor Dalton and mentioned that it might be about the research assistant gig, so she had to leave in a hurry.
Of course, Brennan played it cool and didn’t offer up any hints to Carly about Josslyn’s WSB mission.
As Carly reflected on how much Brennan had done for her, she worried about him crossing lines and upsetting the higher-ups at the WSB.
Brennan assured Carly that it was fine and let her know that she was everything to him.
Lulu dragged Carly away for a private conversation, so they wound up at Lulu’s place soon after.
That’s where Lulu expressed concern about the lies Lois and perhaps Brook Lynn were telling before adding that she needed to find Dante Falconeri’s (Dominic Zamprogna) son.
In Professor Dalton’s office, he stunned Emma by admitting she didn’t get the research assistant spot due to her “mess” of a data model.
Emma realized the info had been corrupted and struggled to understand how this happened.
After Emma left, Josslyn arrived at Professor Dalton’s request and learned she’d scored the research assistant position.
Despite his initial skepticism, Professor Dalton was impressed with Josslyn’s work in a short amount of time and thought she was right for the job.
That said, Professor Dalton revealed there was one condition – and it was a deal-breaker. Josslyn learned she had to sign an NDA, so she gladly promised that she would.
Although the job didn’t really start until summer, Professor Dalton put Josslyn to work organizing some things in advance.
Meanwhile, Giovanni “Gio” Palmieri (Giovanni Mazza) was supposed to play the violin for Harrison Chase (Josh Swickard) and Anna Devane’s (Finola Hughes) tango practice since they were performing at the Nurses Ball.
An apologetic Gio came in late and explained the rough night he’d had following Rocco Falconeri’s (Finn Carr) ordeal.
Nearby, Brook Lynn dropped her recent demand, so Maxie was pleased she didn’t have to choose between BLQ and Lulu – especially since she never would.
Maxie also heard about Brook Lynn and Chase’s adoption plans, so she was thrilled for them.
When Emma arrived upset over her data model failure, Gio urged her to show Professor Dalton the older version on her laptop.
It wasn’t as refined, but Gio convinced Emma it was worth a try since she really wanted this research assistant gig.
Emma made her way back to Professor Dalton’s office, where she found Josslyn alone.
After a confused Emma questioned her, Josslyn confessed that she worked there.
Next, Gio played for Chase and Anna as promised, so they were able to rehearse their tango.
Chase also proposed a dance with Brook Lynn just for fun, so Gio was willing to play the same song for them, too.
At Sonny’s house, he worked to convince Jason that taking Sidwell’s offer might be their only path out of the mob business.
Jason feared it could be a trap and worried about the future of Port Charles with Sidwell running the show.
Sonny stood his ground, but he planned to make sure Sidwell wasn’t behind the attempts on his life before they struck a deal.
After Jason left, Laura stopped by to see Sonny next and was relieved to learn his heart surgery went well.
Sonny also mentioned Sidwell’s offer to buy his piers and suggested it would solve his own problems as well as Laura’s.
Back at the Metro Court, Jason joined Tracy at a table, where she announced that she wanted him to use his criminal training and find her great-grandson.
General Hospital spoilers say a major Gio curveball is headed Tracy’s way eventually, so stick with the ABC soap.
